Maca Brownies

These Maca brownies are a super healthy treat. Maca is an ‘adaptogen’ herb. Adaptogens are unique plant herbs, so called because they are thought to adapt to the body and have the ability to regulate and support your adrenal system. Maca is said to promote energy levels and enhance mood and has also been rumoured to help with menopausal health. Worth a try! I bought my Maca powder online from that big well known online retailer 😉

Ingredients

  • 300g Dates
  • 200g Ground Almonds
  • 50g Desscicated Coconut
  • 1 Tbsp Maca powder
  • 1 Tbsp Raw Honey

Instructions

Pop the oven on to a 180C.

Soak the dates for about 5  minutes in hot water and then drain them off.

Pop the dates in a blender and blend until they become a smooth puree. Add the mixture to a mixing bowl and then add the other ingredients. If you are using solid raw honey, just melt it slightly before adding.

Mix all the ingredients together well and transfer to a square baking tray lined with greaseproof paper. Pat the mixture down with a spatula or similar to make them even.

Pop them in the oven and bake for 15 minutes. When they come out, top them with desiccated coconut mixed with a  little more Maca and grate some 80% dark choc over the top for good measure 🙂
