I made this on a Monday morning to kick-start me on planning for a food retreat. It packs a real nutritious punch and takes 5 minutes to make. If you are a smoothie fan, always make sure you aim to get a good balance of fruit to veg, or more veg than fruit, as fruit combinations can be packed with sugar. Choose fruit that has a lower sugar content like berries and avoid off the shelf products that are almost always full of sugar!
Ingredients
- 1 Carrot
- 1 Small apple, peeled and de-seeded
- 2 cms root ginger
- 2 Broccoli heads
- Handful of Blueberries or Raspberries
- 350ml Water
- Small shot of Agave Syrup (if you feel the need!)
Instructions
Chop your carrot into chunks and place in the blender along with all the other ingredients. Turn on a low setting and gradually turn up the power. Blend on a high setting for 5 mins until everything is smooth.
